The paintings in this series are my emotional response to operatic music that deeply resonates with me and which I performed as a professional classical singer.
This painting is my response to Mimi’s aria, ‘Donde lieta usci,’ from Puccini’s opera, La Bohème. The central character departs from her friends, as she will later depart from life.
