This painting is my response to Lucia’s aria, ‘Regnava nel silenzio,’ from Donizetti’s opera, Lucia di Lammermoor.
A shadowed, fractured composition of layered textures and uneasy symmetry, evoking Lucia’s ghostly vision and the quiet dread beneath her calm.
