64cm x 82cm
Acrylic and mixed media on wooden board in white wood frame
The paintings in this series are my emotional response to operatic music that deeply resonates with me and which I performed as a professional classical singer.
This painting is my response to Alberich’s theft of the gold in Scene 1 of Wagner’s opera, Das Rheingold from Der Ring des Nibelungen.
A fractured, churning underwater landscape captures the violent disruption as the gold is stolen from the protection of the Rhinemaidens and reference is made to the inexorable curse of the Ring.
Postage and packaging costs are extra and will be quoted prior to payment.
